Overcoming obstacles by embracing Challenges in Life, IIM Raipur

Why Aditya Birla Group is big in my life. Aditya Birla Group company has been competing in and ruling the market for more than 160 years. The company operates in more than 35 different countries & employ more than 120,000 employees worldwide. Aditya Birla Group’s evolution from architects of modern India to a major powerhouse across the globe in various sectors has made it a major part of people’s life. Aditya Birla Group had an immense presence in many aspects of my life. Starting with Aditya Birla Fashion and Retail Limited brands like Allen Solly, Peter England, Louis Philippe, Van Heusen are part of my everyday life when it comes to clothing. UltraTech Cement had a major role to play in building a beautiful India. They have helped me connect with my loved ones through Idea Cellular Network which had one of the largest network coverage in India at affordable prices. The company has expanded their presence to more sectors over the years. Aditya Birla Group has ventured into online fashion retail through a platform called abof in 2015 targeting the country’s millennial spenders through curated fashion. Aditya Birla Fashion and Retail has nearly 2,000 brick & mortar stores, owns India’s largest fashion chain, Pantaloons. India’s booming online retail industry is witnessing pitched battles, especially in the electronics and fashion categories. Of the two, fashion is particularly attractive as it is a high margin segment. It does not easily lend itself to the comparison shopping that savvy Indian online buyers are wont to do. The Group's entry into online fashion retail is going to help them in having tremendous growth in the future.#IIMRaipur #ABGLPWooMe Overcoming obstacles by embracing Challenges in Life “If you live a life of make-believe, your life isn't worth anything until you do something that does challenge your reality. And to me, sailing the open ocean is a real challenge, because it's life or death.” -Morgan Freeman Life is full of challenges and surprises. Every successful person has gone through a challenging phase in his life and has come on top. Challenges help an individual learn and grow as a person. Often people tend to find a way around obstacles instead of facing it head-on. Putting off a challenge does not make it go away. It just postpones the inevitable. Focusing on the outcomes make people behave in such a manner. People are reluctant to fail and always seek success. Failure teaches a person more than success. This mental shift in thinking helped me overcome challenges by taking it head-on. Instead of focusing on the loss one must consider what they can gain from the failure. It’s all a matter of perspective. If a challenge feels overwhelming, I think about the simplest thing that I could do to take myself in the forward direction. Resilience is the ability that everyone should develop to adapt well in the face of adversity and to bounce back from challenges. I practice being resilient by choosing a positive attitude, deciding not to be helpless, and trusting your judgment and abilities. This attitude has helped me overcome challenges to achieve my ambitions in life so far.

Stratospheric heights and silent prayers - MDI Gurgaon

The tall silhouette of the Four Seasons Hotel presented an intimidating figure as my friends and I look up at the light blue sky of an early Mumbai morning. We had prepared our pitch to the Aditya Birla Group Stratos panelists and practiced it, multiple times. We watch in amazement at the ideas and creativity that was on show at the Aditya Birla Group Stratos 2018 finals. We were eager to share our ideas and thoughts with both the corporate as well as the student community present there. That was an amazing experience and a memory to cherish as the amount of learning and exposure we got from it was immeasurable.

There’s this quote by Michael Jordan which I personally relate to “Obstacles don't have to stop you. If you run into a wall, don't turn around and give up. Figure out how to climb it, go through it, or work around it”

ABG's role in my life and overcoming my insecurities - Ayushi Garg | MDI Gurgaon

The name ‘Aditya Birla Group’ is known to me since I was a child. It is synonymous with affordable and stylish clothing (Pantaloons), connecting people (Vodafone Idea) and building homes (Ultratech Cement). One of the few things that left a mark on me were the campaigns for one of its biggest brand, Idea. The simple tagline of ‘What an Idea Sirji!’or ‘Get an Idea!’ and the causes associated with them were something that resonated with me. The ‘Walk when you talk’ campaign actually got me to my feet. I have always appreciated the different messages that were associated with these campaigns, whether it be using the internet to teach the kids in the rural areas or using it to give power to the illiterate people in a village so that they can be aware of what the politicians are doing. Whether it be breaking language barriers or understanding your partner’s life, all of these have even stayed with me today. Not only in my childhood, but now when I am starting a different journey, ABG has played an important role. The first formal clothing that I bought for my upcoming journey at MDI, was from Allen Solly and the first business suit from Van Heusen.
