The group that stands for trust

The group that stands for trust

We are all, to some extent, the products of our environment. Growing up in a small town, I used to crave for big fashion brands and mega shopping stores. I could only imagine if I could wear big brands in fashion, and at the same time, I used to get delighted to visit the More store in Delhi during my summer vacations at my granny's place. I loved the idea of having all of the things that I could wish for in the same place. This experience made it big for me, where I felt like a part of city life. The experience of having things accessible and close to your life made Aditya Birla Group big in my life. When I was growing up, I got my first phone to connect with the world and that is where Aditya Birla Group helped me. Idea has been more than just a service provider for me. All these years when I look back, I realize Idea has been my comrade throughout my memory lane. It helped me connect with my family in my best times. Aditya Birla Group has made my life more accessible and has been there in places with me that I can not think of. The trust that my family had in Aditya Birla Group's Ultratech Cement is enormous. It is the trust on which my home stands on for the last 10 years. Aditya Birla Group was there even on the inauguration day of our new home, where I wore the first suit of my life. My fashion dream came true with Aditya Birla's Van Heusen with its great fabric and color that had a mesmerizing effect on me. It was Aditya Birla Group that helped me become what I am and continues to stay with me.

As a young undergraduate media student, being a shy introvert was the bane of my existence. Being a media professional was something I wanted so badly, but the minute I opened my mouth to talk, it is like my whole world came crashing down and I could not manage to get a single word out. On the morning of my very first college presentation, I was extremely excited. I had prepared really well and had practiced in front of the mirror multiple times while also recording myself so that I could correct myself. I tweaked the presentation multiple times and was so proud of my own work. But as I stood in front of the class, sweating bullets, my mind went blank. I felt like such a failure and immediately started crying. It was horrible. My teacher asked me if I wanted to step aside, have a drink of water and try again in a while. My classmates were extremely supportive after that and somehow, I finished my presentation. After this, I was determined to get over my social anxiety and started taking help in order to be more confident. Cut to today, I still have a few inhibitions but I have managed to make it a point to talk in front of people, as much as possible. Getting into a rigorous management program at an esteemed institution like TAPMI, will hopefully help me become a successful leader and a well-rounded individual as well. My transformation is in no way complete, but I'm glad that I got out of my cocoon.

The article I’m writing is basically a concise version of my biography which focuses on the last 2 years of my life. My name is Abhijith and I was a normal run of the mill student throughout my school and college life. I preferred having fun with my friends and getting into trouble more than sitting at home and studying. Post graduation, I landed an IT job in Bangalore like the majority of the B.Tech degree holders from across India (no offence). The work there was simple enough and not so challenging, but there was plenty to do. Then around 1 and a half years into the flow of things I started to realize the gravity of my situation. I started to notice that people with 5 or 10+ years of experience were still doing the same kind of job that I (a fresher) was doing. There was not much growth involved and I also noticed that though we get hikes and increments, the salary scale wasn’t increasing much. I started to panic, started to worry if I would also just waste away in that office, doing nothing out of the ordinary, being a nobody in that concrete jungle where innovation was nowhere to be found and the only thing left was routine. I started to blame myself for not being competent enough and not giving more importance to my future. I felt that my life was a train wreck. It was evident that I needed to do something about this situation and that if I didn’t I was done for. I started to introspect, find what qualities I had in me and to find how I could put them to the best use. I searched online, took advise from friends and family and at the same time started to give a lot of competitive exams. I knew that I didn’t have much time left with me to make something out of my life. From the umpteen options I had, I narrowed it down to 3 main options.

We don't need to provide any introduction of this product. I have shopped many formal clothes of this brand and proudly using this product since a lot of years. Its highly durable and clothing material lasts for years. Whether it is about Shirt, khakees, pants or T-Shirt, every aspect remains unchanged and hence its quality of fabric has made a mile stone in clothing industry.

I started preparing for CAT in 2014 when one of my friends told me about MBA. I was pursuing my BTech then. I was always a bright student, who has never failed in any exam not even surprise tests. I joined a very reputed coaching for CAT and started preparing with full motivation. Little did I know what was in store for me there. I gave my 1st mock test after preparing properly and I scored 15 percentile. I was devastated. My friend, who just went without preparation scored better than me. I was facing a lot of issues in Verbal section. I analyzed the whole paper but I was not able to understand where I went wrong.

I wake up in the morning and switch of the alarm. I look at my phone. I’m using the Vodafone-Idea cellular service. I go freshen up and I hear the sound of rain on the roofing sheet of my house, which is a Hindalco product. I have an important presentation to make at the office and have to wear one of my best shirts. I decide to go with me elegant Peter England shirt which I save for special occasions. I have a quick breakfast and leave for my office. I pass a main junction and see a flyover being built to ease the traffic congestion; I see piles of cement bags there- Ultratech cement bags. On the way a dog jumps in front of my car and I have to apply my brakes suddenly, leaving skid marks on the road. The carbon black in the tyres were made by Birla Carbon.
