We are at a stage where fretting over the number of mocks is not going to help. If you have appeared for less than 10 mocks until now or have just started you can not aim for 40-50 mocks. Plus in November month, you will be doing full-fledged revision as well. After 20th November, you might feel like refreshing yourself before the exam and slowing down.

CAT 2024 Mock Test Strategy: Take Ahead
After you have completed a certain number of mocks, around 6-7 you will see there is a pattern of questions that get repeated just the same way in CAT. This happens specifically for the QA section and LRDI section. Set a target of completing at least 10-15 full-length mocks on alternate days with proper analysis and revision of the topics the rest should be on your target now. The right way of the mocks is analyzing your mistakes and rectifying the same in your next take. You can give 10 right mocks and still score better than one who gave more than 30. A specific number is not your sure shot for the exam. A few tips to analyze your mocks are given below.

CAT 2024 Mock Test Strategy: Analyzing Mock Tests
You can do less but the best. Properly analyzing the mock test is the key. Spend as much time as you give to take the test to analyze the same. Analyzing is not equal to seeing the solutions of the wrong answers. You have to find out why you got this wrong. Categorize your wrong/ Missed attempts as:
1. Did you not know the topic? Can you get through its basics now? Example- Probability/ PnC -> Yes, can be done in less than a week. Geometry?-> No, will take a lot of effort now to cover entirely.
2. I forgot the way of solving/ Formula/ Tricks-> Dedicate a day or two to revise the topic.
3. Speed/ Lost Time-> Focus on choosing the right questions first. Navigate through the entire section and don’t stick to the sequence.
4. Most mock-providing institutions/platforms have detailed solutions. Check the answers for a better approach or faster solving method.
5. Solve unattempted questions in your mocks on your own first.
6. For VARC keep track of your strengths, the questions that improve your score, and the questions that you are repeatedly getting wrong.
All the best for your CAT 2024 prep!
