FMS Delhi MBA Admission 2025-27: Shortlisting Criteria for Interview
FMS adopts a multi-factor approach for shortlisting applicants, which includes both CAT scores and diversity considerations. Here's how the process works:
- CAT 2024 Scores: FMS assigns different weightages to the three sections of the CAT exam to calculate a weighted score:
- VARC (Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension): 40%
- DILR (Data Interpretation and Logical Reasoning): 30%
- QA (Quantitative Ability): 30%
2. In addition, female students receive an extra 5 marks in their weighted scores to promote gender diversity.
3. Academic Performance: FMS considers the academic records from Classes X and XII, allocating:
- 10% weight for Class X marks (5% for scores between 60-75% and 10% for scores above 75%).
- 10% weight for Class XII marks with the same scoring structure.
4. Total Seats Available: FMS offers a total of 251 seats in its MBA program. The distribution includes reserved seats for various categories as per University of Delhi’s guidelines:
- General (Unreserved): 101 seats
- OBC: 69 seats
- EWS: 25 seats
- SC: 37 seats
- ST: 19 seats
- PWD and other supernumerary categories including Foreign Nationals and Orphan Quota have dedicated seats as well.
- FMS Delhi MBA Admission 2025-27: Selection Criteria
Students who clear the shortlisting stage are evaluated based on a rigorous selection process that includes:
- Weighted CAT 2024 Score: 50% weight in the final selection.
- Statement of Purpose (SoP): Adding a unique element to FMS’s selection process, each student’s SoP carries a 10% weight. This document allows applicants to articulate their career goals and aspirations.
- Personal Interview: Interviews are a crucial part of the FMS selection process, accounting for 15% of the total selection weight.
- Extempore Speech: Students must deliver an impromptu speech on a given topic during the interview, contributing an additional 5% to the selection score.
- Academic Scores from Schooling: Marks from Class X and XII each contribute 10% to the final score, incentivizing a strong academic background from early years.
- Diversity Bonus for Women: FMS provides an additional 5 marks to female students in the final interview stage, aligning with its commitment to gender diversity.
