It was just yesterday when I was returning from my meeting with a client in Bandra, that I happen to look at myself in the rear view mirror of my cab. I was dressed in a crisp white formal shirt from Van Heusen and black A-line skirt from Forever 21, carrying all the important files in my Ted Baker bag crossing the 56000 meter long concrete steel beauty, the Bandra Worli Sea Link, built using the Ultratech Cement. It was then I realised how I’m practically surrounded everywhere by this one group of companies that they have grown to become the most essential part of all our lives! Yes I’m talking about none other than the premier business conglomerate of India, the Aditya Birla Group. From the clothes we wear to the food we eat, to the homes we live in to the financial matters we deal in, this group has got us all covered. From being a distant high profile industry to becoming the house name today, the journey however has not been easy. The company initially began as a small cotton manufacturer in India in 1857 and slowly expanded its business in steel, financial services, food, cement, and many other diverse domains to become the next big home grown business conglomerate which as of today, has even become international with deals signed with global luxury brands such as Ted Baker and Simon Carter. Its presence in every Indian consumer’s life conveys a strong message of trust, loyalty and quality that this group undeniably promises to deliver and it is these three attributes which will take ABG group to newer heights, enabling them to serve us better.

What would one normally need in building its home? Well Be it cement or Finance or for that matter even a telephone, one thing remains common across and that is Aditya Birla Group.  Back in 19th century, amidst the desert in Rajasthan, Seth Shiv Narayan Birla started the legacy by trading in cotton, and since then Birla Group have never looked back. Cotton gradually expanded into various domains like chemicals and fertilizers under the guidance of Mr. Ghanshyamdas Birla, who was an active face in India’s freedom struggle. Since then the Birla group has just spread its branches, and now is prominent in different niche of the world by making its presence in 35+ countries. It is third largest conglomerate in India. One of the greatest strengths of Aditya Birla group is its product innovative capabilities. It has had some significant joint ventures and acquisitions which enabled it make a big mark in business industry. Not only in business aspects, but Birla Group has had a very active CSR group too. Education of children, Providing sustainable livelihood, Infrastructure development and other causes for women. Its recents recent announcement of 15m scholarship, has just proved how this group caters to financial aspects with all ethics and values. Be it apparel or telecom or even e-commerce, Aditya Birla Group has its presence in almost every sector. As an Indian it feels really proud to see a Group like this touching sky and taking India to new horizons.

ABG is one of the few brands that I remember from my childhood. It’s a brand that has survived the test of time and proven that with willpower and determination, a brand can achieve global success. ABG is one such brand. They have played a key role in expanding consumer choice by bringing foreign brands like Allen Solly and Peter England to the masses. Their role in the ever-changing scenery of Indian cities is not prominent but ever-present through Ultratech cement. As the populace become more connected mobile phones become pivotal stage but in the absence of connectivity provided by companies like Vodafone-Idea are only dead weights towards economic progress. Clothing brands I rely on for my daily wear. It is probable that the Pepsi can I buy from the college canteen was processed by Hindalco or would soon be recycled by them.
