“Mom… mooommm!! Where have you kept the black Allen Solly shirt? I can’t find it! You know it’s my lucky shirt and I can’t find it!!!” I was frantically going through my wardrobe, picking up things left and right. I was to board the train to Delhi the next morning and I had decided I will not be going to my new college without my lucky shirt – that specific black one from Allen Solly. “Mooooomm! Come here!!” I shouted. Hearing my panicked tone, she came to my room, holding the shirt with a smile on her face. I felt relieved.

Connection since childhood

Connection since childhood

Down my memory lane, I can clearly re-imagine a girl who was extremely overwhelmed when her mother took her for shopping for Diwali, birthdays and every special occasion to Pantaloons. Her wardrobe had always shelved clothes from this all-time favourite fashion shopping destination. In her minds shopping was synonymous to going to Pantaloons. When she had to go to school for longer hours and lunch boxes became a daily saga, her mom trusts a ABG brand to wrap those delicacies, Freshwrapp. As a teenager, her desire to connect with the world was taken care by Vodafone Idea. When she had to sit for her admission interview and she wanted to look her best, Van Heusen came to her rescue. When she wanted to splurge her first salary, she found brands under the same umbrella. Ralph Lauren and The Collective have always looked after the luxury needs. From wearing the infant collection from Pantaloons to power dressing with Van Heusen, Aditya Birla Group was and is a part of her life. This is not just my story, but also the story of every lady of my generation.

It’s all in the mind – TAPMI

It’s all in the mind – TAPMI

The biggest challenges are won through the mind. How you perceive and process the situation is totally subjective. A person might feel dejected easily and one might show his character with perseverance and focus. Not long ago, I found myself trapped in a tricky situation. Where I had to decide which career path to go for, I was being given the opportunity to relocate in the United States for a long-term project and in a few months, I had to fly. But, deep inside I always had a burning desire to complete my post-graduation. I wanted to do an MBA but wasn’t sure how would I be able to achieve that. To make it even worse, I had to decide in a few days if I am willing to travel abroad or not. There comes the trickiest situation, the never-ending dilemma, Thinking of all the IFS and BUTS. But I strongly believed in my capabilities and prioritized my options. Eventually, I went for the tougher option of studying further and finally I let go of my chance to go and work onsite. Once I decided to take the admission in a good B-school, I never thought of the dollars I could have earned or the cities I could’ve explored. I feel if you make a conscious and informed decision, you should never retrospect on your decision. There mustn’t any remorse or regrets. Our life is what we choose to be. So, jump on the driver seat and take its steering, because life has many ‘diversions’!!
